If you are taking regular medication, your doctor may arrange for you to have repeat prescriptions. These may be ordered by letter or by using the tear-off computer slip, from your last prescription. Send or hand in your request (with a stamped addressed envelope, if you wish the repeat prescription to be posted to you).
Please allow two working days between requesting and receiving your prescription from reception, and five working days, should the request be posted to us.
You can also email your request to: KINCCG.BrunswickRepeatPrescription@nhs.net or fax on 020 8390 3223.
You can also use the secure online form on this page.
Periodically your doctor will want to review your treatment, so you may be asked to make an appointment, before the next repeat of your prescription. It is also our policy not to give repeat prescriptions for certain medication, such as antibiotics, without seeing you.
CONTRACEPTIVE PILL REPEAT
Contraceptive Services - Wide ranges of safe and effective contraceptive methods are available.
Combined Oral Contraceptive Pill - It is recommended that women on the combined oral contraceptive pill should have their blood pressure monitored every 6 months. Prescriptions, therefore, cannot be authorised as 'repeats'. Patients are encouraged to attend the surgery to receive 6 months supply.
Smoking - The combined oral contraceptive pill is not recommended for smokers over the age of 35. We are happy to advise these patients on alternative methods of contraception.
People in the following categories are automatically exempt from prescription charges: Children under 16, under 19 and in full-time education, all patients over the age of 60 years of age and all patients disgnosed with Cancer.
It is sometimes worthwhile to purchase a pre-payment certificate for your prescriptions. A prescription charge is £7.65 per item. Pre-payment certificates are currently £29.10 for THREE months and £104.00 for one year. This means that when using a pre-payment certificate, once 15 items have been dispensed, the certificate has paid for itself.
